Carnegie Mellon University School of Computer Science offers a catalog of programs that are eligible for referral.

FAQs

Anyone can refer a friend at any time. Many participants refer colleagues to a program before they have had the opportunity to take it. Others refer during the program or after completion.

If you are enrolled in or have completed an Michigan Engineering Professional Education with Emeritus, you will be eligible for the referral rebate. If you have not yet signed up for the program, you will receive a credit toward future enrollment.

Who can refer?

Anyone can refer someone to a program. There are many reasons why our participants choose to refer. Participants taking their first program do so to learn together with someone. Participants who have completed a program often refer their colleagues to share the impact of the program.

What if I have already completed the program? Can I still refer?

One of the most common moments when participants refer their colleagues is immediately after completing a program. If you successfully refer someone after completing your program, you will receive a credit that you can apply toward a future Carnegie Mellon University School of Computer Science program.

What if I am not sure that I want to take the program yet?

Many participants refer their colleagues to a program before they have had the opportunity to take it. If you refer a colleague, but you have not yet signed up for the program, you will receive a credit that you can apply toward a future Carnegie Mellon University School of Computer Science program.

How to refer?

  • Select the program to which you want to refer.

  • Enter your email and share the personalized link with your colleague either directly or via email.

  • Once they join and stay in the program, you will receive the referral benefit.

How will I receive my benefit?

Your fee benefit will vary depending on when you refer and to which program you refer.

  • If you have not yet signed up for a program, once your colleague joins and stays in the program, you will receive a credit that you can apply toward a future Carnegie Mellon University School of Computer Science program.

  • If you refer a colleague to a program for which you have already signed up, and your colleague joins the same cohort, you will receive a refund toward your course fee.

    • If you refer a colleague to an elective program for which you have signed up, you will receive a credit that you can apply toward a future Carnegie Mellon University School of Computer Science program.

  • If you have already completed a program and you refer a colleague, you will receive a credit that you can apply toward a future Carnegie Mellon University School of Computer Science program.
